Rep. Jake Wheatley to showcase Pittsburgh’s innovative small-business entrepreneurs/ventures addressing major world Issues of the G-20 Summit

Pittsburgh, PA, Sept. 16 – G-20 trade representatives and media will have the opportunity to meet and discuss Pittsburgh entrepreneurial companies that are addressing some of the major world issues such as H1N1 virus (swine flu), innovative manufacturing solutions, and energy and environmental standardizations. Companies featured in the Tuesday, Sept. 22 trade expo will be on display with guided tours at the following locations:

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Allegheny, 401 W. Commons
  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Riverside Center for Innovation, 700 River Ave.
  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hill House, 1835 Center Ave.

The trade expo will include numerous success stories from our region, featuring exhibits from more than 30 companies. On exhibit will be Bon Tool Co., Qorpak, FNBiometrics, The Elliot Group, Modular International, Ace Wire, DT Gruelle Co., Precision Kidd Steel Co., Alcoa, Lavelle Real Estate Co., The Elliot Group, Lewis Environmental Services, Koppers Inc., Unipack, Inc., NCS Enterprises LLC, UMOJA African Arts Co., RL Swearer Company Inc., Im-mack-ulate Impressions, Comsos Techologies Inc., Ward Computer Services, Health Monitoring Systems, Educational Robots Co., Sabio Springs, Treasurers, Acuta Digital, Speech Interface Designs Wellspring Worldwide, Allen & Shariff, R.A.I.N., Ultra Electronics-ProLogic, The Oaks Group and Choice Media Group.

"The G-20 member countries plus five represent about 90 percent of global gross national product, 80 percent of world trade and two-thirds of the world's population. I especially want to see minority-owned and women-owned businesses take advantage of this economic opportunity," Wheatley said.

This event is also being co-sponsored by the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center and Riverside Center for Innovation. The Duquesne University Small Business Development Center provides technical and management assistance to small business in southwestern Pennsylvania.
